On Saturday, the much-anticipated Democratic rebuttal to the “Nunes” memo was finally released. As suspected, the memo contradicts some of the claims made in the majority memo, agrees with others, and completely leaves out important details.
On Friday, the much anticipated “Nunes Memo” was finally released to the general public. Disobedient Media previously reported on the push to prevent the memo from being released. While there is much contained in the four pages, the most glaring issue contained in the memo is the FBI’s willful concealment of pertinent details of which they were required by law to turn over to the FISA court when seeking the initial surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a former volunteer foreign policy adviser for the Trump campaign.

This afternoon, the House Intelligence Committee voted to approve the release of the much-anticipated memo, authored by Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA).
Disobedient Media previously reported on the Senate’s passage of legislation that reauthorized a section of controversial FISA law. Since publishing that article, President Trump tweeted that he had signed off on the legislation, despite widespread calls to veto the bill. On the same day, Suzie Dawson and this author discussed an important Snowden file that sheds light on NSA resistance to Congressional oversight and raises concern regarding issues like FISA.
The Senate voted to pass the extremely controversial bill which would reauthorize FISA, and which many claim would result in increased warrantless spying powers for an already grotesquely powerful NSA.
